How to block content off your pc?

I want to know how to protect my pc fron any bad content. I went on parental controls and turned on the filter but it blocks everything. And if I set it up to medium level my child can still access ual content. There are many sites and I dont want to be blocking everyone of them. How do I download or change something that can automatically block any bad content. Just and etc...? Please help . Thank you
