Do you think i should have hair extensions? went to have my hair trimmed and she put layers in.looks horrible?

i have very cury hair and now look like i have a mullet. looks like i belong in the eighies . keep crying when i look in the mirror. only asked for a bloody trim. my hair takes ages to grow. help!!!
